CONTROLLING ANIMAL SOURCE DISEASES
Synopsis
Zoonotic diseases, which are transmitted from animals to humans, have been an integral part of our shared history for centuries. From historic pandemics to contemporary emerging threats, these diseases continue to challenge our capacity to safeguard public health. In addition, vector-borne diseases, transmitted by vectors such as mosquitoes and ticks, exert a significant impact on global human and animal populations. The expansion of vectors due to factors like climate change and globalization requires us to equip ourselves with knowledge and strategies to mitigate their impact.
